East across the Potomac at night, with a boat on the river, the moon at the top and an airliner on final approach to National Airport.  

Slow Drive

The George Washington Parkway, is my favorite slow drive, south from Alexandria to Mount Vernon along the river.

As an old port city, the remains of old docks are shadows of the past of Alexandria

Photographers have been know to call the hour around sunrise and the hour around sunset as the golden hours.  The light is special.

Wednesday Weather in Alexandria

If you don't like the weather, wait a couple of hours.  It was raining at midnight, snowing in the morning, ice in the early afternoon, and raining again by evening.  

Eisenhower Avenue

Midway between King Street Station and the end of the line at Huntington, Eisenhower Avenue is an easily overlooked metro station.  

Mid Winter Weather

Cool and rain are typical mid winter weather, we get a little snow each winter, but many more cold damp days.
